No Folks, the Corvair isn't the subject of a busted myth.  Wouldn't that be 
great if they decided to bust  Ralphie's myth?
 
Anyway, for those of you who are not familiar with the show,  it is on The 
Discovery Channel.  The five primary contributors on the show  select myths, 
urban legends, internet videos, etc. and try to prove or disprove  them.
 
The car is a late model ragtop 140.  The primary stars of  the show, Adam 
Savage and Jamie Hyneman open the episode driving to the Grand  Canyon where 
they will use duct tape to survive in the desert.  They have  done many 
segments that use duct tape in one way or the other.
 
This particular show aired earlier today (6/19) and will air  again on 
6/23.  Check to see what time in your time zone.  The episode  title is "Duct 
Tape Canyon."
 
Maybe some of us can write in to the show and request they  test the 
negative myths surrounding the Corvair.  Many of their segments  derive from 
viewer requests.
