<VV> Increased ethanol and reduced octane levels

I'll not opine on this, but just mention that there is an article in today's paper (it originated in the Detroit Free Press if you care to search for it - and definitely if you are one of the few folks in SD) that reports on uncovering illegal (and unlabeled) lower octane fuel and higher level ethanol fuel that has made its way from some Rocky Mountain states to states where it is not authorized. It discloses the damage it can cause to engines with older computers not programmed to handle it, as well as the decrease in fuel mileage (in one case mentioned, as much as 11 mpg).
