<VV> [SCG] Engine Size Emblem Removal on Rear Deck Lid

Good advise on how to remove the emblems, but the barrel clips are designed
not to come out. They have a tang that springs into the metal to keep them
retained. The only way to remove a barrel clip is to use a steel dentists
pick to pry the tangs away from the body, and then carefully pull them up.
I have seen some people try to squeeze the barrel clip towards the middle
and then lift it our using a needle nose pliers, but you risk damaging the
paint if you loose the grip. What is the reason for removing the barrel
clips?

I've read where people have successfully used nylon fishing line to remove
these without harming the paint. I've never done it, but it makes sense to
 me.

By carefully prying it up with a small flat screw driver or other flat
tool. You gently work your way around the emblem and work it up a little at
a time. And use a shop rag under it to protect the paint.

How does one remove the engine HP emblem on the rear deck lid?  They are
held in place with barrel clips.   The question then becomes how to remove
the barrel clips.
