 LOL! Well, if someone can actually measure the octane difference between a line filled with premium and one filled with regular before filling with premium, more power to them! There's more difference between stations, time of year, etc. than this piddly difference. 

Now, back to electric fans.. <G>

It's not that much. The ID of a typical gas hose is 3/4   inch. Times 10 feet, that's only 53 cubic inches, and a gallon is 231 cubic   inches. So, well under a quart just in the hose. The selector valve plumbing   has even less than that in it, as that piping is less than 2 feet, typically.
