It's not that much. The ID of a typical gas hose is 3/4 inch. Times 10 feet, that's only 53 cubic inches, and a gallon is 231 cubic inches. So, well under a quart just in the hose. The selector valve plumbing has even less than that in it, as that piping is less than 2 feet, typically.
