An easy way to check the ring and pinion ratio is to use a tach.  Out on the
highway at 60MPH the tach will read about 3,000RPM if you have a 3.55 ratio
(about half your speed 60/30)  If you have a 3.27 ratio it will be 2763RPM
roughly or if you have a 3.89 ratio the engine will revving higher at
roughly 3287 RPM.  This is based on stock diameter tires.  If you have
bigger or smaller tires all bets are off.
