<VV> Was Engine Installion Now Dreaded Snout Crack

Thanks to all for advice on the engine only installation.  Bad news--closer inspection as I was putting on throw out bearing showed a crack in the snout.  It looks like a piece could fall out if I touched it,  Crack extends 7/16 of an inch from end of snout.  Any fixes?  JB weld? Or am I faced with dropping the trans axle and having a new snout installed?  I'm afraid o f the answers!
