<VV> Coil spring spacers for a EM?

Gents, I'm reaching out to all of you that have had your springs/suspension
out of the rear of your EM car. I've taken my system out, leaving the
engine in place, and took the cross member, A-Arms, trans mount bracket and
backing plates to the powder coaters for a new coat of paint.

However, my question stems around not finding any information about
cushions for the EM springs, and finding these (see picture) in the lower
A-Arm spring area.
They more or less look like the C189's Clark's sells for the upper area on
the 65-69.

Q1? I am confirming that the EM's had no cushions and someone before me
stuck these in to get a bit of extra height on my coupe?
Q2? What are peoples experience with adding spacers (and what height) to
raise the rear end a bit? What did they use?
