<VV> EM heater plenum insulation?

Earlies had the "Burst of Fuzz' option.  You had to be on the VVs in the '90s to understand.  I think it was Boarding who gave us the details of this option.

How important is it to be insulated?   LM heater systems do not have insulation and my '66 puts all more heat than needed.
