I have found 5 rear 1/4's so far in my search. 1 left side 68-69 convt (a rough light to medium surface rust NOS part ). 1 left side 65-67 coupe and 3 r ight side coupe with prices from $350 to $900 plus shipping which will be pricey as well.
A high price for a good panel is not necessarily an issue .
If, I were to repair this gentleman's existing 1/4 panel I would expend likely 40 hours of labor in t he repair (more than half of the time being spent fabricating or sectioning the bottom front 4 inches of it from wheel openin g to door as well as the rear latch post at the bottom. The rest of the time would be spent shaping the 5 foot long by 1 foot tall section along the side of the 1/4 that looks like someone had a ballpeen hammer party from both sides over the entire area in a poor old repair (a couple 1/2inch holes where the metal was stretched so far that they sand thru it). So the cost ot this repair is $1,600 labor 40/hr, plus a couple hundred bucks in materials, so around $1,800.
The cost of repairing with truely good clean new undamaged panel would be the cost of the panel plus about 10 hours. Lets just say the panel costs $900 and it cost $ 5 00 to ship it in. Given this the total cost would be $400 labor+ $1,400 part + $75 materials = $1,875.
The cost in this case is similar however the gains for the quality of the car can be great. With the 1/4 removed any rust on the inner panels and especially in the door latch post can be addressed and repaired. The other benefit in my case is not having body filler over a 5 foot long section inside and outside the 1/4 panel to a total thickness of perhaps 3/4's of an inch from engine compartment side to the outer painted surface.

I need a NOS left 1/4 panel for a 1965 convertible. Convertible, coupe or later model with marker hole OK (only a 4 door unit will not be usable). I am located in Atlanta, Georgia, closer is better, driving distance (within 250 miles) is better still. An extremly nice used 1/4 section of car within 250 miles might be a possibility as well...it must be absolutly rust hole free and not badly dented. Ted
