Yes, it bonds to the inside of your fuel lines, insulates them and acts as a 
kind of flow reversion preventative.  The trick is getting it mixed in the 
proper ratio with your fuel.  Too much and you end up insulating the main jets 
and if you get too much on the floats they will sink.  Last time I selected the 
ZDDP additive at the gas pump it didn't work either.  You also really want to be 
sure your tank is almost dry & fill it completely so that the extra fuel in the 
pump hoses doesn't dilute your mixture.  You never know if the last person 
purchased ZDDP or not.
