I remember an article in Consumer Reports about this sometime in the late
70's. Subsequently there were many newspaper articles about it even in the
New York Times. It was quite a scandal. In addition to being the demise
of the Chevy "moly orange" as I recall it was also the demise of the
Oldsmobile "Rocket" engine.
Essentially when one purchased a Pontiac, Buick, or Oldsmobile in the late
70's one got a Chevrolet. I wonder why the first and last no longer
exist? Just food for thought.
