<VV> Windshield install on late model coupe

Look for some tips on those that have done their own windshield installs. My biggest question is do you use the 3M window ribbon that I believe goes onto the glass, then apply the actual sealer, and then install the glass - yes?
 
Looking for the steps as a "how to" install a windshield. Also any seam sealer PN's/Brand that I can use to seam up under my dash where the cowl attaches would be welcomed too.
