Rekey the glove box lock to match the existing trunk lock. Do not rekey
the trunk lock to fit a new glove box lock. A new glove box cylinder
from a vender is keyed by filing the tumblers with the trunk key
inserted into the new glove box cylinder.
The 67 and later glove box lock fits the B, D and F key blanks used in
67, 68 and 69. GM cars through 66 use the B-10 and B-11 blanks, no letters.
Take the old lock to a club meeting, get together, whatever to get more
keys to try. Any GM key from 1935 to 1966 is a candidate, B-10 or B-11,
hex or pear shaped.

Tried the "jiggle key" method to try to take it apart but I can't find a key that will do the trick. I will probably purchase a replacement from the vendor, but would like to have the trunk key match. Does anyone on the list happen to know why the '66 and up locks are different? Must be a different design for the trunk lock? Also, has anyone paid a locksmith to re-key a trunk lock to match the new glovebox lock? I'm betting that will cost me a bit. Just exploring my options to fix it.Jim
