<VV> Old tires

I've had the same experience. 10+ year old tire seem to be much better than 6 year old tires. I've got several sets that are over 10 years old and haven't had any issues with them. The 5 year old tires on my truck that is driven about 1500 miles a year flew apart with almost all the tread still on them. They still looked new. I have some tires on my Fiero that are driven even less and you can see the cords in the cracks they still don't shake but they are pretty scary looking. Many other new tires I've had in the past 8 or so years have fallen apart in less than a year. The US made tires I've had seem to shake from day one. Japanese Sumitomos and some China tires I've had seem to be much smoother and I've never had them fall apart.

Sounds funny, but I think newer tires do not last as long as tires used to.
Seems, back when, an old tire had more of something that made them resist ozone, etc. and they did last for a long time. New tires seem to degrade quicker.
