Mike, lots of info there, but the short story is that parts in the
trans wear that can leave a discoloration, and the fluid ages, it
shears over time, and changes color. It may also have a burnt smell. If
the transmission is still functioning properly, you can do a full
change, including the torque converter, and it should be fine. Mark
