<VV> Corvair guy needs help - driving from Tucumcari, NM toward Amarillo, TX

To all,
A friend is driving from Albuquerque to Chicago with his 66 Monza.  The car is 'bucking and spitting'.  He has tried the 'hand over the carb' thing; and shows no improvement.  He is currently trying to drive from Tucumcari NM toward Amarillo TX.
Is there anybody along that direction that could help him out?  His name is Murray; his cell is 847-687-4600.

Could somebody please cross post this to Corvair Center, and Fast Vair?  Any other lists would be helpful.
