<VV> HELP!! (garage lighting info)

I'm glad I live in Texas and out in the country. I built my own house and
1750 sq. ft. shop in '87, did my own wiring and plumbing and if I want to
change anything I don't have to ask anyone.

Joe,

Seth is absolutely correct. LEED code is being enacted all the time. If a
professional did the plans for your permit then stick with what they show
lighting wise at least until you get through your final inspection. You can
alway add additional, plug in, lighting later--especially hooded lights on
the walls for lower lighting for us more seasoned people.

Joe - Be careful with added lighting. Many code enforcement folks and the
building inspectors during the construction sign offs may be enforcing
limited lighting guidelines for energy usage restrictions. You can wire
for additional lighting, with extra gang plugs in the ceiling areas, then,
after final inspection sign off, install additional lighting yourself. Play
it safe, but plan ahead! I would add additional small-tube 4-foot fixtures.
These have easy available bulbs and also good cold-start performance. -

My blueprint shows minimal fluorescent lighting, but I want bright
overheads in there. I know nothing of what's available. Cost is No. 1
consideration. I'll need good lighting over work benchs as well.

Thanks for any advice.
