<VV> Info needed - 65 Steering box shaft length

I need someone to measure the overall length of the input shaft of the  
early-1965, non-telescoping, Corvair steering column shaft. When removed  from 
the car, the shaft is bare, the column housing just slides off. I need the  
measurement of the length of the shaft from where it exits the cast iron  
steering box, to the very tip end where the retaining nut starts onto the  
threads. The 1964 is a similar design, but a different length. I have several  
steering boxes here, but none of that design. I have a shaft that was cut 
off of  a box. It is 44 inches long so the length must be more than that.
