If one lubes the rubbing block, even cheap ones, they tend not to wear 
down overly quickly, unless we are talking old VW beetles.  The stuff is 
called Distributor Cam Lube, and it seems no one sells it by the tube 
anymore -- they just substitute silicone grease, which is better than 
nothing, I guess ...

Leads appreciated on locating real DCL.
