My LM experience has been the same.  EM's #10 wire overheated at  
connection (without the higher amp heater motor) and shorted against the body  rail 
(FC).  Chrysler multi-connectors with the spade male female individual  
connections caused problems several times (two connectors on one Duster).   And 
don't get me started on German, French or English cars.

Seen many bad  terminals on multicavity connectors on many makes of cars 
over the years.  But now that you mention it, not on a late model Corvair 
that I remember.  But with a memory this short....
