Mike, that is not true for all seats, only a few manufacturers do that.
I installed many continental and Lycoming seats that were interference
fit. Granted, they were usually deeper so had more grip on the port
areas.

Aircraft seats, as well as the heads are threaded in place and heat
shrunk as well.....a pin is then applied to prevent rotation...
