<VV> BU lights

Gears? Gears? There are gears involved? :-) If I want my backup lights and
alarm on , I'll turn them on myself when I'm good and ready! VBG!
By way of an FYI, I have completely revamped my dash set up in the UltraVan.
My mistake was doing it one circuit at a time to correct the patchwork quilt
of wiring created by one or more POs. What I should have done (with the
proverbial 20:20 hindsight!) is cut the loom at the back of the coach ,
ripped out all of the wires and put a new loom in. I now have a full set of
gauges - oil temp and pressure, vacuum, tachometer, head temp X 2 and so on.
I also replaced all of the original switches, long since corroded to
oblivion with a set of individual switches along with separate circuits and
relays for each major function. With a 20 feet feed of 18 gauge wire from
the battery in the stock system, 9 volts or so at the wipers and headlights
weren't a lot of fun!
Did you know that on the UltraVan there are separate circuits for left and
right wipers, for example? The passenger's side wiper on my coach, ( I think
it was stock) was only accessible by the passenger and neither circuit was
self-parking , at least in my vehicle . Sounds like fun in a rainstorm, eh?
The good news is I did at least document what I did (well, mostly!) LOL!
This is all in fun and all joking aside, I think it's a simple grounding
problem.
Regards,
Bob

Sorry, I might be asking my questions in reverse order.
I probably should have started with... What gear is selected when you have
this problem?
Later, JR
