<VV> Fuel Pressure WAS looking to buy a spare fuel pump

The stock Corvair fuel pump has a pressure regulator 'built in' in the form of the diaphragm return spring. The pump flows fuel and when the supply exceeds the demand the resulting pressure compresses the spring and lifts the push rod off the cam follower. That reduces or stops the pumping action until the demand calls for more fuel.

The question becomes does anyone offer 'softer' or 'harder' springs to tailor the pump more closely to the demand?
