 I don't believe any Corvair based 8s were ever built. There was the 10 cylinder modular engine, however..

I had a college roommate that was a member of the Flathead tribe, nice 
guy, except he was a math major, and nearly all math majors are a tad 
weird to start with -- short of stature.
  Not to mention flathead motored Indian Motorcycles ...
Did anyone mention the experimental modular Corvair 8?
The classic Ford flathead V-8 doesn't weigh a lot, especially with 
aluminum heads -- anyone ever think about putting one in the back of a Vair?
