I think it’s ridiculous to blame the total seal rings. It’s well known that at idle, the most manifold vacuum is produced, and that’s when the biggest load is placed on the carbon intake seal. (other than slamming the throttle body closed after a high speed run). This is when the seal leaks. Also remember the piston ring–like seal on the hot end. Too many red Herrings have been introduced into this discussion.
If the rings were installed correctly, and obviously they were, they should be holding up as well as any other quality ring.
