<VV> Gen /Fan light glows brighter as you rev the engine!!

Good answer ... but there can be another factor. The 'gen' light, as with any other bulb, glows when current passes through it to ground. That is to say when there is a potential differential. In a car generator / alternator system when the generator sends opposing current to the bulb the potential is equalized so the light goes 'out.' Too much current / voltage from the generator can introduce a new differential and cause the bulb to glow. As always, the greater the difference the brighter the low. Unfortunately the new ground can be quite difficult to find. A volt meter will tell if the battery is receiving a charge or being overcharged, so it might be easier to learn to live with the glow than to find the problem.
