Which begs the question, why would modern oils, clearly meant to protect high tech engines with FAR higher specific outputs than a Corvair, not be up to the task? Heat resistance is about it.

It looks like the market has finally realized there are a lot of older
engines out there. Lucas has an ad in the latest Hot Rod for "Hot Rod
and Classic" oil.
