Use what Ray recommends.  

I learned to use STP for a building lube from my father in the late 60s.
There are now lubes made for engine assembly that I'm sure are much better.

I'm trying to summarise these last dozen or so emails  for my context in
which I am about to build a 3.1 (290 CI) big block Corvair motor with Ray
Sedman components for my UltraVan:

It seems that the following would be good to do

1) Build using STP for the "build lubricant"
2) Use Mobil synthetic for normal running

Is that correct?
