<VV> Early Defrost Tube Fix??

  My brother Doug has an early convertible with rust damage just forward of the 
heat deflector door pivot. There is a 90 degree or so metal tube to route the 
air to the defroster. Where this tube attaches is rotted. Any known fixes? Sorry 
if this is not real detailed. I am relaying what he told me. Poor brother Doug 
is living in the Dark Ages with no computer. I didn't see anything in the 
archives other than taping it. I didn't see any parts in Clark's for it. Thanks 
in advance.
