Yep, the 61-63 4 speeds have a smaller input shaft than the 64-65 4 speeds. I assume the same deal applies to the 3 speeds.

And of course there is a different number of splines on the input shaft where it
goes into the transmission. I believe '61-'63 have a certain number and '64-'65
have a different number. I am talking about 4 speeds. Of course, there is a
"ton" of very good information in THE BOOK (the junkyard primer). But I prefer
the Powerglide.
