The 66-69 3 and 4 speeds are longer than any of the earlier trannies. The 66-69 3 and 4 speeds take the same front bracket. They also take the same gasket between the engine and the rear, and this gasket is also different than the earlier trannies.

Hi,
Just to make sure I understand this are we saying there are 2 different 4
speeds (the ELM4 and LLM4 below) and that
one is longer, requires a different front mount and requires a different
gasket between the differential and transmission?
If so, which one is longer ?
Regards,
Bob

Smitty Says; Charlie if you are going to rewrite the glossary you might as
well do the other half.
LLM4 = 66 and up 4 speed
LLM3 = 66 and up 3 speed
ELM4 = 65 4 Speed
LEM4 = 64 (only) 4 speed (Same transmission as ELM4)
EEM4 = 60-63 4 speed
EM3 = Early 3 speed (All Early years and 65) (Far as I know)
