Smitty Says;   I know it's a lost art to you kids, but soft solder does a 
good job and it is not irreversible.  The difference between success and 
failure is the same now as it was 60 years ago.  The metal has to be clean. 
Chrome must be removed in the soldered area.  You can solder on both sides 
of the link.  Clean it up, a touch of paste and give er He**.
Note; I have no experience with the new "so called" silver solder.  Just 
lead solder.
