What Frank says makes sense. Since from 1965-69, all Corvairs were pillarless, "sedan" always would refer to the Sport Sedan body style, "Coupe" to the 2 door hardtop.
Things might get confusing in the Full Size (Impala, Bel Air, Biscayne) or Chevelle lines, where both pillared and pillarless styles were offered in both 2- and 4-door models.
And of course, GM itself is subject to what each technical writer and illustrator puts in the literature. More than one goofup has been done. My favorite is the 1968 Chevy Impala Custom Coupe booklet. The car illustrated is an SS427 Custom Coupe, with hidden headlights. Any Impala SS427 freak knows that the 1968-69 hidden headlights were a Caprice-only option; lots of Impalas have them today but no one to date has EVER found an original, documented Impala with hidden headlights installed as RPO T83...Bill Hershkowitz 66 Monza Sport Sedan 110 PG A/C
