<VV> mystery rear brake noise, need help

A water hose works best for cleaning.  Brake fluid is water soluble and it keeps the dust out of the air.  I don't want to breath that dust even if it isn't asbestos.

I really think that squeal on slow stops is the result of the organic brake material on the shoes.  Since it is embarrassing (to me), I clean out the dust fairly frequently - 2 or 3 times a year.
