if it is , it will be a real dog.
you can check by removing the pan , getting the cam mark at the case split  
, checking position of timing mark...or crank key at pulley/damper. i think 
tech  guide covers it..
if you suspect that , better check it...but rare problem.
i have checked a few suspects , but lucked out so far.
i think you will find larger jets (because of the crap gas we get now) will 
 brighten things up a lot.  they sure did for me.
