If you're looking for "easy cruising" you can't beat an automatic, but I
gues we've have to define what "no problem" means ?
I once had a computer program that I wrote that had "no problems" for a
few months until I asked "How often do you use it?" and she said, "Oh, I
don't~so-and-so uses it" as though it was not relevant.
Fortunately, so-and-so had no problems either, but "no problems" had a
different definition at that point !
I prefer to avoid the "lurch" and abrupt RPM change from "to low" to
"too high" to get the power to climb the hill.
A 3-spped auto is beeter, but I also like to shift when **I** want to
shift, and not have it bounce from "to low" to "too high" and back, whne
I find myself shifting a PG to low, to keep it from doing that annoying
little habit!
But that's just me ~ at the GWFBT, I heard a story of someone spending
big buck to convert a Corsa to a PG ?!?!?!?!?
That was wrong on so-o-o-o many levels !
It was for a girl who couldn't drive a stick (not my kind of girl !)
My girlfriend didn't know how to drive a stick, and she solved that by
buying a nwe 4-speed car, figuring she'd have to learn just to get it
home !
She got 120,000 on her clutch when it was "recommended" to replace it
(because of a 'clinking' noise, but theplate and disc still looked so
new that the dealer fixed it under warranty (which had expired at 20K)
!!!!
My kind of girl, but she smoked, whereas my Corvair didn't !
