<VV> left-right

Seems to me, GM has a parts numbering system that assigns odd/even numbers
to mirror image parts.

That's the same part that's used on either side of the vehicle, but
configured differently for left and right.

If so, which side gets an even number, and which the odd one? ...or is this
a figment of my senility?
