Hi Ed, Certainly you will want to replace the seal and install a new "sock" as well as the outside hose and clamps. Do you have the correct tool to remove the retainer that holds the sender unit to the tank? It will make this job MUCH easier. I also prefer to run the car completely out of gas to reduce the volatile mess.And clean the grounding area of the underbody to ensure a good ground. I hope this is helpful.
