<VV> Oil Pressure Drop

Hmmm, I'm wondering if the oil pressure relief is bypassing all the
time? Correct me if I am wrong guys, but the oil filter bypass and oil
cooler bypass are just bypasses, but still sent oil to the bearings,
where the oil pressure relief allows oil to go back to the oil pan.
I've never seen one, but leaky housing to case gasket could do this,
but I suspect a leaky oil pressure relief valve leaking. . Mark Durham

Subject: <VV> Oil Pressure Drop
I replaced the gears in the Oil Pump on my 1965 Corsa 140hp and at
running speeds the pressure went up from 22 lbs to about 40 lbs.
Problem is at Idle the pressure drops to 0 lbs. With the old gears at
idle pressure dropped to about 5 lbs. Help, why is the pressure
dropping to 0 at idle?
