<VV> 140 Engine Codes

 I have NO doubt they were done by machine. And if I were to hazard a guess, they weren't stamped until the engine was assembled.

No one so long as you matched what the general had as far as style, size, font, 
location, etc. Were these numbers hand stamped or done by a machine? Anyone 
know?
