Let's see if I remember my High School Civics class...........the Mayor reports
to the Board of Aldermen, the Aldermen are elected by the people. The Mayor
isn't the idiot, it's the people who voted in the aldermen. The Mayor cannot
pass an ordinance like a speed limit, the Aldermen do.
Just my .02

Yep, if anyone thinks $peed trap$ are about anything other than drive by
taxation, they're kidding themselves. For that second to last sentence, the
po-po do NOT want compliance. Should the driving public suddenly obey the speed
limit, they'd lower it to maintain revenues.

I was watching the news today and the city of Hamtramck, MI, which is inside
the city of Detroit was being branded a speed trap. The reporter
interviewed the mayor who sheepishly admitted it was true. It seems the
city is making $1.4 million a month giving out speeding tickets. The speed
limit even on major highways and freeway service drives is 25MPH.
The mayor said if you don't exceed the speed limit you don't get a ticket!
And we elect these "bozos".
