Ulli:
My German relatives had scattered after WWII. My brother went to Germany several years ago trying to trace our family tree but did not get far. A couple of 'uncles' visited from the 'father land' [Argentina] in '46 but they left quickly after going to the movies with my parents. They saw one of them on the podium during one of Hitler's hate speeches on the newsreel. Back at our house all they could say to my dad was "But Adolph [dad], that was not what he said ..." The words had been dubbed into the film of the opening of a new water treatment plant.

On the other side of the family there was a senior aged driver, one Sir Archibald Smirden. Great, Great, uncle Arch drove his Austin 8 [4 cylinders, 8hp] up until the last but, common to the English, he walked almost everywhere. On the last day of his life he walked the 2 miles to the pub to play billiards with his friends, then walked home to a nice dinner in front of a 'smashing' fire in the fireplace then retired ... and passed in his sleep. He was one hundred six years old and the first Corvair was still 3 years from being built.
