Racing....SURE. But this is NOT recommended for street vehicles. That is  
because the dipstick tube is long for a reason. By shortening the tube you 
allow  the blowby gasses to enter the engine compartment thru the dipstick 
tube and get  into the direct air HEATER. These gasses are dangerous to breathe.
