Royal Purple is in the local FLAPS and Wally's world for about the same
price and is a straight SL oil and would also do for the corvair
engine. Mark Durham

As for Royal Purple.
My Wally World does not carry it.
$9.40 a quart seems a bit excessive, especially seeing as I have 10
collector cars to do oil changes to on an annual basis.

What I have found, through my own research is at Wally World, I can get
Mobil 1 10W 40 High Mileage oil with 1100 ppm zddp. Should be more than
adequate for $24.50 for a 5 quart container.
I can also get the Rotella T, for $13.40 for a 4-quart container which has
enough zddp to get by.

And of all things, Dollar General has their DG brand, made from US refined
oil, to the old SF spec which has 900 ppm of zddp, which is infinitely
better than any of most of the major brands on the shelf, at a fraction of
the price, under $3 a quart. I confirmed the zddp content with the manager
of the JD Streeter refinery that called me when I e-mailed a question to the
Dollar General website. Great customer service by the way.

Sorry, Amsoil may be good, but considering how many toys I have to feed, out
of my price range.
