<VV> 4 speed cross member

Thanks to all of you on the input of choices of 4 speed tranies. The 61 4 speed 
that is the lowest ratio sounds like the one most suited to my needs. Is the 
first gear syncronized in the earlier Van 4 speeds? And what is the availability 
of the 61 Van 4 speed. I never gave much thought to the lower ratios but can see 
in a pickup it sure would be the better choice.
  Today I installed a very good condition shifter in the Rampside and oh what a 
difference that makes in the shifting. So smooth and you can actually feel every 
little movement in the transmission with very little effort. Some days are 
better than others. Sometime soon I will be rounding up 4 speed parts. Thanks
