that is why we use a KD type insert that has a nice flange on it with teeth 
 to hold it in place. of course you still need the hole in shape to hold 
it. the  tap HAS to go straight in all the way for things to work, if it 
starts moving  around , back out and try again.   helicoil has its merits , but 
when  possible i like the threadsert better.
