I agree with Joe's sentiment that now's the time to be buying cars that are
"sure to appreciate" in the coming years. For that very reason I purchased this
'66 Corvette coupe in Texas on Monday of last week.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had been watching '59-'64 big Pontiacs & '61 Caddies for some time on Ebay -
as I want to buy some cars that I know are sure to appreciate. Of course, full
size 4 speed Pontiacs are highly desirable and Eldorado convertibles the same.
The '61 Caddies are real Buck Rogers spaceships. However, this poor boy can't
buy the real good stuff. I found a '62 Grand Prix (first yr.) - outside of
Lincoln, Neb. on Ebay. Called the seller & he told me what his Reserve was.
Sounded like a a pretty straight up fellow. He has 3 other '62 4 spd. big
Pontiacs and one is the 4 time Nat'l. record holder NHRA Don Gay Super Duty car
- probably worth maybe a half Million. Well, it missed Reserve by $1,800.
Looked like a pretty sound car with only a small amt. of rust, and many
options. 16, I think. The car is Seafoam Aqua with white top, and white int.
with dark aqua dash, lower carpeted door panels and carpets. It's also a
Tri-Power car with automatic, PS, PB, PW, factory A/C and 8 l
ug - 14" rims. Lots of other little options as well. Has the build sheet and
Pontiac Historical Society verification that it is "as built by Pontiac".
Cranks right up on the first try and has a healthy 389 rumble.

As usual, it's not quite as nice as what the Ebay pics showed, but I can't say
I'm unhappy with my purchase. This one is sure going to be pretty when it's
done, but it's going to have to take a number behind about 3 - 4 other
projects. First in line is my '69 David Clemens built 500 getting put back
together. Now, my garage problem is even worse.

I'm going to have to insist that Mary get some tight Capri pants with heels and
a halter top plus big sunhat and big shades.......... :-)
