<VV> Corvan fuel tank

Hi all
   I picked up a corvan a while back and I need to drop the fuel tank. ( 
can't get fuel to flow ) I used compressed air from the pump to tank and the 
line is clear, so the problem is at the tank. My question is can I drop the 
tank with only removing the shift rod and hose,electric etc. at tank ?? ( 
hope I don't have to drop the crossmember )
  I had a van back in 1967 but never had to drop the tank.
