<VV> wheels

I have heard that Mini Cooper wheels will fit the early model  Corvairs.
 
This is interesting because there are all sorts of diameters  available.
 
I was wondering if the base Mini steel wheels will work on the Corvair. I  
know someone who has a set that can be had cheap and they are 15 or 16 
inch...  gotta check but either can work as far as tire sizes available.
 
Can anyone confirm that this is truly the case. I'll be putting my "61  
Lakewood back on the road soon and I 
want to do it on new rubber.
